Hotel Regina Palace Terme

I stayed here for six nights in April 2018. The location is perfect : close to the pedestrian area but not on it -about 100 meters...as well as being near to the interesting Ischia Ponte with its Castello Aragonese. It is within walking distance from the ferry, and very close to beaches, restaurants and shops as well. The rooms in the hotel are spacious and beds are comfortable. The main hotel restaurant provides a good variety of food of a high standard. The breakfast was great, more than adequate. They have a very nice external swimming pool. The staff was always very nice, helpful and friendly. Ischia is like a secret little, secluded gem in the middle of the Mediterranean. It is a quick ferry ride from Naples and in April there were very few tourists, so the area was quiet. It was perfect to stay at.

stay from 19 to 23 August, but in spite of what is illustrated on the web and in the brochure, my room appeared bordering on miserable and totally miserable and old was the bathroom which presented some documented critical issues and promptly reported to the concierge. One of the two mirror lights burned out throughout the stay. A shelf or any support for the travel necessaire was missing and in the shower cubicle you could see the holes for the shelf for the soaps but the shelf was missing. The shower head had been changed but not the holder resulting in it falling on my head when showering. I don't think the air extractor ever worked. In a bathroom without a window...... Nobody did anything to fix it and at check out when I tried to assert my rights (4* hotel) they told me that the manager was absent and there was no substitute . All I have left is to pay and leave. I contacted management who said they were sorry but everything was fine with them. Goodbye and thanks. But can tourism be done like this in Ischia in August?
